Why Deep Buoy™ Gel

What problems are solved by this technology?

Deep Buoy™ offers a safe means to lift, move and place structures on and remove structures off the seabed. The pumpable buoyancy technology can be used in applications such as subsea construction, decommissioning and FPSO riser support installation.

The huge pressures at great depths means that in many applications, it is simply not feasible to use airbags as a means of floatation. However, as DeepBuoy™ is incrompressible, the risk of explosion does not exist and the buoyant force at the bottom of the sea, is exactly the same as at the surface.

The gel can also be used to extends lifting capacity of cranes, with a lifting tolerance ranging from 2T right up to 2000T.

DeepBuoy™ buoyancy gel has some unique advantages over traditional floatation technologies such as Air or Gas buoyancy.

DeepBuoy™ Gell Being Pumped

DeepBuoy™ gel can be easily pumped allowing buoyancy to be added or removed in subsea situations. DeepBuoy™ has a very low density of 500kgs / m3, resulting in near pound for pound lift.
